AsoloArtFilmFestival: binge of art cinema
A week dedicated to films from around the world
Art films from around the world. But also exhibitions, theater performances, musical events and meetings with the leaders. For a week, from August 27 to September 5, Asolo becomes a natural stage and host the twenty-ninth edition dell’ArtFilmFestival, one of the exhibitions of art films and more prestigione known internationally. Evidence are the hundreds of films in competition coming from every country and addressing niche topics including art, architecture, design, including production of film schools.
And then, next in the competition proper, a parallel section, the Festival Off, located in the center of Asolo and neighboring areas, which provides, among other appointments, a day devoted to architecture with the event “Luigi Nono & Charles Scarpa, a conversation between Massimo Cacciari and Francesco Dal Co (August 28 at 21.30 at the theater Duse). While among the curiosities include the first edition of MovieCamp, with the title “Asolo MovieCamp 2010″ (Villa Flangini August 31). This is not an international network of lectures, the contents of which are proposed by the participants themselves. Anyone, therefore, can “get in the chair, suggest a topic and talk to others. During the Festival, also the artist Misael will open a temporary shop in the center of Asolo within which space will Abel Bazan, international artist who creates the “artist’s shoes”: unique products the skill re-combination of waste materials and re-use of objects with completely different functionality.
The Festival opens Friday, August 28 at the castle garden with exhibitions of contemporary artists on the theme “metamorphosis, identity and otherness” in the evening (21.30) will be presented the award to Duse Arts and Culture. From late on Friday (22 hours), daily until Sept. 3, will alternate projections filmed Friday, September 3 will be awarded the Duse and the next day will be awarded the prize Flavia Paulon career. Saturday closing, with the awarding of the winners of the competition (18.30) and followed by the screening of the film the winner.
